I want glasses. It’s mainly an image thing; I like the way they look on people. The main problem is that I have 20-20 vision, and would like to keep it that way. I know you can buy glasses with plain glass in them, but I worry that I may end up cross-eyed like everyone in that Steve Martin movie, _The Jerk_. Can wearing glasses for strictly cosmetic reasons cause vision problems? ---

I wouldn’t worry about it. Just make sure that you get “Plano” lenses. ---

I don’t know. How have you fared wearing sunglasses? Did they make you cross-eyed? I think you will be fine unless of course you get glasses that pinch the bridge of your nose so tightly that your nose swells up like a tomato and you go cross-eyed from looking at it. ---

I guess I should have been more specific… I know that I won’t _actually_ go cross-eyed, I was just concerned that it may affect my vision, make me nearsighted or farsighted or something. I thought sunglasses, too, but I don’t usually wear those for hours a day. I guess my basic motivation was just to be able to reference _The Jerk_. ---

They sell flat pieces of glass or plastic, ask your an eye doctor. I keep seeing these all the time in movies, they tend to reflect a lot because they’re flat and just destroys the credibility of the actor, at least for me. Get UV protection and you’ll have an excuse to wear them all the time. ---

Not sure I get the problem. You want to wear glasses to make you look cool/sexy/keen/whatever, but you’re afraid if you wear glasses when you don’t need them, they might ruin your eyes, and you’ll have to wear glasses? Isn’t that the point? FWIW, I don’t think they’ll cause you any problems. Just don’t go putting the Opti-grab on them. (I like that show)
