# Will jehovah witness bank their own blood before major surgeries? (Need answer fast)

Modern medicine is quite amazing.  
They had my cousin up in a chair the day after heart surgery. He’s in a special cardio ward.

He’ll be moved to a regular room sometime this weekend.

I had some surgery about fifteen years ago, and it was definitely recommended. I went in a couple of weeks before the surgery and had blood taken and stored.

I can’t actually remember if it was used or not, come to think of it.

Glad to hear the surgery went ok.

My JW mother went through several rounds of bloodless surgery over the last few years. It’s a difficult topic — as ones involving life and death situations are. Unfortunately the dire consequences soften with non-compromising JWs with the belief that they will certainly live again for their faithful stand.
