I wouldn’t know. I don’t blame white people for crime. I also - unlike you - don’t blame black people or hispanic people for crime. I blame criminals for crime.
How nice. Maybe you should try blaming criminals for crime. But you might want to buy a dictionary and take a logic course first, as it seems like it would benefit you greatly.
Conservatives love pointing out examples of black cops killing unarmed white people that get little media traction. It doesn’t fit in with the narrative of evil white people systematically oppressing black people because racism. Also examples of black people killing white people in horrific ways that the media doesn’t cover outside of where it happens, e.g. Christopher Newsom. Though that was awhile ago by now.
The issue isn’t that black crime should be blamed on “whitey.” It’s that certain right-wing politicians and pundits, in this case Rudy Giuliani, refuse to engage the topic of racial inequities in law enforcement until black people show the never-defined requisite level of outrage over the separate problem of black-on-black crime.
I do believe it would be great if blacks committed less crime and lower crime rates in black communities would undoubtedly create fewer opportunities for these episodes to occur. But that’s not the topic of this thread.
Well, I can’t argue against that point obviously.
I think you got one big false dichotomy there, bro. But I’m open to being proven wrong.
Have any examples of politicos who play fair? Being a politico itself shows that oone is dishonest in my opinion.
I am white as one can get. I have been the victim of violent crime twice and both times it was another white guy of about my own age, not some “Black kid” or 'Spanish scum" but a white guy with a fist who hit me when he knew where to find my wallet.
Are you sending a message to him?
Actually, Zimmerman was interrogated for 5 hours, took a lie detector test, had a medical exam and participated in a video reenactment of the event for police. I’m not saying the investigation was perfect by any means, but to say it wasn’t investigated is absurd.
It is my understanding that most crime is within the same race, e.g., white on white, black on black. So, what do you find noteworthy about the race of your assailants?
 :smack: The context of this comment makes it clear you’re either a racist or an imbecile.
Maybe it will help. Can magellan01 repost to clarify whether he’s a racist or just an imbecile?
As with many of his posts, it’s hard to tell whether John Mace thinks he makes oh-oh-so-clever imitations of assholery, or is just an asshole.
Obviously, a person can care about both black people being disproportionately killed by the police, and black people being disproportionately killed by criminals, but that isn’t what’s happening when you bring up the second to argue that people should be less bothered by the first.
(Also, it looks like Donald Rump is accusing Rudy of a false dichotomy rather than setting up his own)
I think we focus on the wrong thing. The problem isn’t racial inequities in who gets unjustifiably shot or abused. It’s that the police unjustifiably shoot and abuse people! When everyone portrays it as a black problem, what it really means is that it’s a problem that will never actually be addressed. And we can’t address it, because you can’t solve the problem of police brutality by telling them to shoot, tase, and beat more white people.
Milwaukee police chief Edward Flynn has something to say that seems to be appropriate for this thread.
I think a lot of problems in this country could be solved or greatly improved if various interest groups would quit standing on opposite sides of the street and pointing fingers at each other and saying “we don’t care about your stupid problems because only our problems are real problems” and instead would get together. Poverty and the way we treat poor people is a big problem, but instead of poor people getting together, we’d rather just make it black vs. white.
