The hamsters! Won’t anybody think of the hamsters! I’d hate to see avatars on this board, but if they ever happened, I think all administrators and staff should have hamster avatars…animated…on little hamster wheels…turning verrrrry slooooowly. 😃 ---

we could have had avatars that werent moving or we could have avatars that was only accepted by the Straight Dope. Like a standard avatar selection of 15-20 symbols ---

What’s the point? Avatars are just a cheap-ass way of trying to be “cute.” We don’t do “cute” here. ---

If you don’t like it, or you’ve having a bad time here, feel free to amuse yourself elsewhere. There are plenty of other boards where people have avatars already. ---

Nah, my I just couldn’t think of anything suitably clever, so I just went with simple literal fact. Of course, since then, I’ve seen plenty that made me smack my head and say I should have thought of it first, like /dev/tty1, or 127.0.0.1. ---
