In [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=103957&pagenumber=2), the not so honorable **ElvisL1ves** accuses me of making vague sneers against Clinton and asks me to put up or shut up. Time to turn the tables, jackass. Where exactly did I make a vague sneer? My only sneer was directly plainly at you, **Elvis** , for your continued sneers. You sneeringly lambasted **december** and then provided a link countering a charge he never made. **December** ’s allegations were quite clear and quite specific. He said that Lay visited Clinton several times in the White House and gave them thousands of dollars in contributions. But do you address that? No. You carefully knock down an argument that **december** never makes. Then I get dragged into this whole thing after never making any allegations whatsoever about Clinton’s relationship with Lay. I merely pointed out that **rjung** ’s criticism of **december** for not having posted in a while is a bit misplaced when you had failed to post for an even longer time. Cute debating tactics, **Elvis**. Disprove arguments that were never made, and tar people who never made any arguments in the first place. Asshole. And now you see why I have no respect for you. Now it’s time for you to put up or shut up, **Elvis**. Show me where I made any vague sneers or arguments. Show me how your little link disproved any of **december** ’s original post. If you can’t do either then I expect an apology from you. ---

I didn’t bother to check what Harvey was specifically referring to. I was assuming that it was more in the line of the [White House meeting](http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A37287-2002Jan12¬Found=true) that Lay had with Clinton and Gore in 1997 over global warming issues. Visits of that nature. Particularly after **december** responded to **Elvis** ’s link by saying that he was just talking about visits, not Lincoln bedroom sleepovers. **Tejoat** annoyed me further by saying that **Elvis** ’s link actually answered **december** ’s remarks after **december** had clarified that he was not referring to Lay spending the night in the Lincoln bedroom and that I was silly and wrong for pointing that out. My actual beef is that **Elvis** accuses me of making vague sneers against Clinton when I did no such thing. My only crime, it seems, was to point out that **Elvis** did not answer **december** ’s allegation. ---

'scuse me? **december** , as he often does, posts some 'I remember/I heard/I read some ‘insert commentator here’ claimed ‘insert bullshit accusation here’ gig, and got called on it. (I typically won’t try and guess what he’s talking about but ask him for a cite pronto) He specified, as I showed by quoting his own damn words that he was referring to what he heard in that specific show. The fact that later he tries to weasel out (after it turns out Harvey was quoting falsehoods) by claiming he wasn’t referring to what he heard in that show, but to something else entirely doesn’t excuse it **or** change what he posted. His original post refered, not to some vague other visits, but to Harvey’s broadcast and the info therein. and now, you’re saying, in essence, that ‘although most of my OP was directly about that incident, that’s not really what I’m mad about.’ I’d have had more respect for you here if you’d said “oops, my bad” about that, and gone on (although the rest of your rant is hardly pit worthy - he sneered, you sneered at him sneering at \*\* december\*\* - Sneering - in Great Debates?!?! I’m shocked, shocked I say). sheesh. ---

If you are found to be spreading bullshit, and that’s brought to your attention as it surely will be on this board, then it’s nobody else’s shortcoming but your own. Hmm, I actually read posts by Spoofe, Milo, and Monster thinking there might be something more than their usual adolescent invective there for once. Silly me. Your claims to me being a spreader of bullshit etc. would have a little more weight if you presented any facts or reasoning to show that to be the case. That’s the currency here on this board, devoted as it is to _fighting_ ignorance. Y’all are invited to put up or shut up, too - but I expect that, like Neurotik, you won’t do either of those things either. Prove me wrong for once, m’kay? ---

First of all, fuck off on this one, **minty**. I surely hope you’re not one to blow off an argument or statement simply because a poster is 18. You know well and good that when someone has an unbreakable bias in favor of one party over another in every situation, whether they are liberal or conservative, you end up with the mouth-foaming Clinton haters and Bush haters who refuse to listen to logic, reason, or facts, and resort to responding with personal attacks, red herrings, and flat out lies. In the case of **ElvisL1ves** , he apparently gets off on trying to blame whatever he can whenever he can on Bush, republicans, and conservatives. He also tries to throw in his line about wanting to fight ignorance and posting “facts”, when he is just throwing in liberal spin on whatever he can. Trying to search for links for a few posts in particular I have in mind, but the boards are running slower than a lil’ old granny on the freeway. ---

Wow, and it turns out **Monster104** is just barely not a child after all. Actually, I had no idea how old you were. I was merely inferring childeshness from your ridiculous willingness to bash a poster for the sole reason that he \<\\> has liberal political beliefs. That is perhaps the dumbest reason I have ever heard of for attempting a pile-on in the Pit.
