Newly subscribed liberal here… Actually, by NYC standards I’m a moderate Dem, which of course to most of the country makes me Jane Fonda’s soulmate. But I don’t mind paying a fair price for services rendered. And in a year of using PayPal with various and sundry E-Bay folks, it’s never been compromised. I took the plunge. ---

Of course I read _Mother Jones_. I’m married to one of you Goddamn pinkos, I don’t really have a choice. Of course, I only read it in the bathroom, that way I’m close enough to the can in case I have to puke. And I never said that it was a “dreadful turn of events”. I simply stated a fact, to which you and your ilk are loathe for whatever reason to admit to. You’re the guy that’s making the “Crimea River” comments. I’m not crying. I’m pointing out a fact that you consistently deny. My suspicion is that you deny it because you want to think that this is how things really are, a shining Utopia in the midst of a dreary conservative sea, and like any Utopia, you get your True Believers who come and join your group, and you get people who think you’re full of crap and leave, thus cementing in your mind the utter righteousness of your cause, reinforced by hundreds of supporters, with only a vocal minority of dissenters. I guess I should let you have your illusions. It makes you an interesting conversationalist, anyway. 🙂 ---

To answer the OP, hell yes. Brothers and Sisters, let me lay of the facts\* in black and white. [ol] [li]Democrats(Liberal) believe in pay as you go: tax and spend.[/li][li]Republicans (not liberals) believe in market economics: let advertisers, or someone else pay.[/li][li]Democrats pay for their news, through donations, from sources such as NPR and PBS.[/li][li]Republicans, get their news from FOX, who gets their money from advertisers and the Bush reelection campaign.[/li][li]The SDMB is an unbelievably good source for news and analysis.[/li][li]Ergo, liberals will swarm here, Paypals-a-paying.[/li][/ol] 😛 (a libburral in Dallas Tejas) \*By “facts” I mean my opinion. 😉 ---

Back to the OP, if I may: It is hard for me, as a liberal, to come up with the money. Like most liberals not in the entertainment industry, I have a low-paying job in the public sector, and when you consider all the money I donate to eco-terrorists, hemp growers, and vegetarian youth groups I don’t have much money left for entertainment. In fact, I was saving up for a Michael Moore VHS tape, and now that’ll take longer than I thought… dern capitalist oppressors and their fees. However, I feel I must stay on and the bourgeois pigs and their ideology of hate and ignorance.
