Actual sock puppets! 2 versions of Cecil, one the turkey with the mortarboard, the other with the bag over the head. That’s where the money is - marketing the associated products! ---

If you’re taking requests, how about something with long sleeves a collar and buttons down the front. Oh and a pocket. I can’t wear t-shirts or sweatshirts at work, and I running low. 😃 ---

Oh yeah. One other item not clothing. A calendar - along the lines the one the ChiReader currently puts out. Except with a Cecil column & the Slug drawing each month instead of the Chicago-themed photos. The new SD calendar could even use exactly the same format as the current ChiReader calendar; just replace the photos. I’d like to have one of those hanging over my desk. ---

I’ve said for years (and expressed privately to certain folks) that there’s a good-sized market waiting for a steady supply of new SDMB-branded products. I’m with Beer up there, give me a polo with a logo and I’m there. I’m 38. I don’t WANT to wear some cartoony T-Shirt. ---

I’d buy a simple tee-shirt with Straight Dope tag lines on it. Something other Dopers would recognize and say hi (or not), and non-Dopers would get intrigued about, if they’re conscious enough. Print up an “oh, it’s a 19_20_’s-style death ray” tee-shirt and I’ll buy it. ---

I am in agreement, I’d buy a t shirt in a heart beat if it wasn’t so hideously ugly and require a lengthy explanation as to what exactly it’s supposed to mean. I check back at least once a year, to see if the hamsters have come up with anything better. Alas, I fear they are not up for it until they unload these awful things. As a home sewer, I’ve decided to make my own. Something tasteful and understated. Small logo, tag line like that. I’d buy tons of SD junk were it available.
