I’d like to make a cherry pie this summer, perhaps more than one, but last year and the year before, cherries were hard to find, more expensive, or both. There was a frost or a blight or something. Is there any way of knowing how this year’s crop might/will turn out?

Pretend I made some clever remark about cherries…
