My dinner is taco-seasoned shredded chicken, using tortilla chips as a utensil/side dish. Too tired for anything more ambitious. Splurged on Uber to get home, since I wasn’t in any mood to not get home until 2145. ---

Mundane and pointless to anyone who doesn’t live in my city, but here it goes. A new food place has opened up called Top Dog. It’s a dedicated hot dog stand. There are of course places that sell hot dogs, like Sonic, but no others based solely on weiners. It’s an independent place, not a chain, and I’m hoping it makes it. I’ve had two meals there and both were very good. Makes a nice change from burgers. There are a variety of specialty dogs and also a “build your own” option. The two guys who have started it are running it with mostly family help so far, starting small but hoping to grow. Business has been good so far they say. It’s so darn hard for an independent food place to make it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this one. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 90 and scattered p.m. tstorms. We shall see. It rained late yestiddy afternoon, last night, and early this mornin’. Thus the yahd is way to wet to mow, so no mowage this mornin’. I have stuff to do this afternoon and tomorrow mornin’ so mowage may have to wait until Firday mornin’. No biggie but I had just wanted to get it over with today. So instead of mowage, I have a load of laundry goin’. **{{{doggio}}}** so sorry about your friend. Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Happy Hump Day! I woke up too early. The bladder woke me and then I heard my alarm go off. I started my morning routine and by the time I noticed it was only 5:30 I was too awake to go back to bed. I have no idea why my alarm went off so early. It’s a cloudy 76 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 90 and rain today. Not much to do today, just irk and house irk. I had to take my car to the garage for a service and MoT, but that got put off in favour of an emergency vet visit with Shadow. Poor boy has had cystitis again, only much worse than before. Last night he was weeing blood every where, and drinking a lot more water than usual which he was then vomiting all over the place very shortly afterwards. After clearing up every couple of hours with him, I got him an appointment this morning. They have given him meds to make him more comfortable and took some blood. The test results were not good, and they are hovering between chronic and acute renal problems. He has to go back in tonight for three days of intensive fluid therapy to try getting rid of the toxins but I have to wrest the car back from the garage before that can happen. Unless I want a long walk to the vets with a cat who sings me the song of his people as soon as he sees the carrier. _le sigh_ ---

Afternoon all. Irked. Irk was dead dead dead (probably due to Wimbledon keeping people glued to the telly), so got sent home early. A friend was s’posed to be helping me check on my bees today, as it’s still swarm season, and my wrist ain’t quite right yet when it comes to lifting, but she’s just cancelled 'cos she has stuff that needs to happen. Not sure if I should try it by myself or not, the hive is _heavy_ right now, and once one has started disassembling a bee hive, one is somewhat obliged to put it back together again. On the other hand, losing a swarm is also a very bad thing… Hmmmm. ---

**BooFae** sorry to hear about Shadow’s kidney issues. I hope they can do something to help him. **Nut** good luck with your swarm. I don’t know enough about bees to advise you. Can they wait a day generally or once they start is it best to hurry up and get it done? My only experience is a friend who left work one day and found that a swarm had chosen his car to be the next home of their hive. It was quite a sight. :eek: ---

LUNCH!!! Very busy morning. Which is good - 'cause it zipped right by! According to my weather site, it’s hot and humid outside. I shall believe rather than venture forth myself. I did leave my car windows open a bit so it shouldn’t be too much of an oven when I leave. Still, very glad for the a/c! And less than 100 days till my cruise. Not that I’m counting.
