I just happened to be looking at the user cp, and noticed my subscription expiration date. This may be the first time I’ve thought about the subscription since I paid for it, which got me to thinking - Will there be any kind of notification that our subscriptions are about to expire? Automatic email or something? Or do I just have to try real hard not to forget? I checked the subscription sticky and did a quick search of this forum, but didn’t see this question answered. We dunno yet. Someone will think about it, sometime before (or slightly after) the expiration date, but since that won’t happen until March or April, we got time. We’ll let you know when we know. Choices include (among others) a pop-up when you try to sign on, email, or a quacking duck on your front porch. ---

Likewise, what with it being a New Year etc, I too only recently thought - “Ooh watch out for when SDMB sub will be needed - ah but not till March or April”. But I KNOW (as does my electricity company, 'phone company and other horrors) that I tend to remember things far in advance of the correct time, then forget when I _ought_ to remember. Besides, I think i would _like_ a quacking duck. I could it along to a mausoeum not far away that has some sort of record-breaking echo. 🙂 PS - the CelynCat would like a duck too. Is there a reduced subscription rate for demanding kits? ---

I echo the sentiment - I like the duck idea, too. But tell ya what - I’ll accept an emailed, virtual duck in lieu of the real McCoy – thereby saving the Reader quite a few $$$ (Have you any idea how much it would cost to snail-mail a duck from Chicago to Tel-Aviv!? Or even if it air-mailed itself? The mind boggles!). In return, all I ask is for my subscription fee to be deducted from the saving accrued 😉 Dani ---
