So there is a video. He is purported to have lived long enough to pull the barb from his chest. And it is all on tape. Will you watch it when it makes its inevitable rounds on the internet? Personally I know I will. I will feel dirty and I will know on some level it is wrong, but I must be honest. I will watch. You? ---

No, I don’t want to see someone die. And I didn’t even like him. But he has a grieving family and I think it’s inappropriate. ---

As for his grieving family, my personal opinion is it will be his wife who will authorize the release of the tape. ---

I think it will make the rounds if she releases it or not. Maybe she has the clout in Australia that Dale Earnhart’s widow had, and can block it. I don’t see that happening. I have no desire to watch. I was not a particular fan of Irwin’s - I didn’t dislike him, I just don’t watch very much TV. However, he seemed very upbeat and positive, which I liked. I have no desire to see him die. ---

The video was part of a documentary. I am not sure his wife has anything to say about it unless she has controlling interest in the company making the documentary. Surely there exists a contract that stipulates ownership of the film footage. ---

I kinda get the feeling Steve would want us to see it. He seemed like that kind of guy. However, I personally have no desire to see it. ---

I have a feeling that the video will be surpressed until the coroners inquest. Also the media here probably will not play it, anyone who did would risk alot of criticism from people from the Prime Minister down… ---

My initial reaction is No, I will not. Seems morbid and somehow disrespectful. I grieve for his family in spite of the risks he willingly undertook. That is small consolation to a widow and two small children without a father today. The quotes above have given me a shred of ambiguity towards it being shown for others to watch, however. He seemed like an outstanding person. ---

I hadn’t even heard about the guy and I only watch TV when I’m with my family. I remember a story some time ago about some crocodile trainer in Australia and his baby son, which must have been him. If it’s on the news while I’m eating with my family, I’ll see it; otherwise, no. ---

I wouldn’t want to see him gasping his last, but I’d be interested to see what happened in the lead up to the 'ray stinging him… he always insisted the cameras keep rolling no matter what. ---

I was debating this with myself earlier this morning. Eventually it will get leaked, and I will become aware of the location of said video. My first gut reaction was that I shouldn’t watch it. Then I thought that maybe I should watch it in to remind myself that all people are mortal and that I should enjoy life while I can. Finally, I decided that I will watch it because much like the Pam & Tommy Lee everyone else has already seen it and I would be missing out.
