Limited account Fred has a kb that won’t respond.
Admin account Sally on the same machine has a kb that works fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Just a stab: Try the “Keyboard” icon in the Control Panel. I would imagine it could be set differently for different users. Mine says “Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard.”

No idea what you’ll find there, but hopefully it will be able to be fixed there. If not, maybe someone else here has a better idea.

If the keyboard is a new one and it installed special dirvers when it was first attached to the machine, and if that was done when Sally was logged on, and if the installer routine was stupid and put the dirver file(s) inside Sally’s user proffile instead of system32 or the all users profile, then you’d get the symptoms yu desribe. But it would have been that way from teh git-go.

Did this just start? If so, what else might you have changed in the the way of security since the last time it worked for Fred?

Yeah, they’ve had this machine for a couple of years, running only the limited account.
