A romantic comedy that morphs into a Hitchcock film. Hm… It could be called _Love Birds_ or something. So a couple of weeks after the collision, I was on the same freeway; albeit farther down the road. A raptor takes off with something dead in its talons – very reminiscent of the previous incident. This one took off from the median, and fortunately flew abeam until it had enough altitude to turn over the cars. Bald eagles and hawks prowl the freeways up here looking for easy meals. A bald eagle got smacked by a bus several months ago. Gotta keep an eye on those birds! ---

Squirrel vs. car, squirrel loses. Squirrel vs. bike, sometimes both lose. I’ve seen more than one photo of a squirrel getting partway thru the front wheel before the spokes grab it & spin it along, at least until the forks. The whee will stop suddenly, (expensive) carbon forks may snap, & the cyclist will launch. The launch isn’t so dangerous, it’s the landing that’s a bitch! :eek: In my case, they hit the spokes & bounced, & luckily for me, I had both hands on the bars before the bike got ‘squirrelly’ with the front wheel going every direction but forward. The other two times, I rode over it with my rear wheel. ---

I hit an egret one time. The windshield didn’t crack, but the amount of birdshit an egret can hold and release on impact is stunningly massive. I had to drive 20 miles from the middle of nowhere to get to a car wash so I could have unimpaired vision.
