I go online in my local library. I do it often, so most of the librarians who sit by the computers know me and say hi.
This one guy usually winks at me when he says hi!
I know, not that amazing, but he’s married.
Is winking always a sign of interest? I hope not, maybe he’s just being friendly. I want your opinions.

It is not necessarily a come on. If a wink is accompanied by one of those whole face smiles, than it is just being friendly. If a wink is followed a lurid stare that lasts too long, then you are being hit upon. So what I am saying, it depends on what other facial gestures accompany the wink.

Ever see him wink at anyone BUT you?

Sometimes men wink at women because it catches them off guard and makes them smile, and, sometimes blush.

To tell you the truth, if I could get young men to smile and blush selfconsciously, by winking, I’d work it to death.

But that’s just me.

Winking is not always a sign of interest.

But, if I may say so without creeping you out too much, if those are pictures of you on your web site, and this guy is anything like normal, then in this case, I would tend to assume that he is interested.

So, uh, **vanilla** , how _you_ doin’?

I’ve known some men who seem to wink as an unconscious habit - at least that’s the way it appeared to me. I’ve met some women who do the same.

Either that, or everyone is coming on to me… yeah, right

What the hell, winking may be in now that **The Weakest Link** has premiered in the States.

Of course, this should now be followed by a totally understandable urge to take an axe and part the winker’s head into at least four pieces, stamping on the smallest while chanting “the weakest link”. So don’t be afraid to retaliate.

I can chime in as one of those who wink in a friendly fashion, and don’t usually mean it as a come on.

In my family it was just a friendly non-verbal greeting/reassurance, Mom would wink at me from the choir when I was sitting by myself in church and behaving myself.

I do it a lot, and I feel sorry for those who find themselves physically incapable of doing so. (I do wonder how frequent that is though… is it a learned capability?

I tend to see winks as friendly gestures, a la **dublos**. Someone you see fairly regularly but not on a social level, does it with a friendly smile…it’s like a little “Hi!”

One the other hand, if he does it with a deadpan expression and closes his one eye _v e r y **S L O W L Y…** _
[sub]WELL, I WOULDN’T KNOW WHAT TO THINK.[/sub]

I’d say it means he knows something about you. You should take him out of the pitcure at the earliest opportunity, preferably by mowing him down in the parking lot.

It’s the only way to be sure.

I’m just going to say that at one time there was a soft drink called “Wink.” It was greenish, IIRC, like Mountain. My uncle used it as a mix for his vodka.
