In one of the high-profile cases of a woman teacher and male student affair, much like this one she was unrepentant and kept seeing him when out on parole or bail or whatever. She got sent back to do more time. When she finally got out for good, her “victim” married her and the two raised their kids. A couple things: Anyone remember what their names were? I’m wondering if they’re still together. Anyone have any examples of a female student “victim” marrying and raising a family with her “abuser”? I believe I mentioned issues regarding power in one of my posts, so I agree it probably should be a crime. I just don’t think it is as damaging to for a teen to have sex as many perceive it to be. ---

I’m saying, you can’t know that because of the X factor in the situation-- the teacher, who would have to be pretty fucked up. You can’t say for sure it would go swimmingly. The stories in question illustrate that nicely. It’s the lack of full consideration of the situation that aggravates me, and an inability to consider why this might be a bad experience for a boy. It’s a form of logic that says “I feel this way, and if anyone feels less so, they have to be wrong. Therefore I’m right in ramming it down their throats until they either submit or shut the hell up”. That’s what I was feeling from Rubystreak in this thread. ---

Obviously the child will be scarred for life (literally) and it doesn’t matter one whit to his long term mental health if he actually wanted to get pounded by Mr. Hotbod.” Yeah, I agree that someone in a position of power over someone else shouldn’t be making sexual advances towards them and they should be deflecting advances made from them (I’m looking at you Mr. Clinton) whether they are minors or not. But just because you do have power over someone doesn’t mean that if you do have sexual relations that it will cause the same scarring in all cases. Rather, it is more likely, that people will react in any number of ways from enjoying the experience to utter revulsion and self loathing. Forcing people to move from one category to the other because that is the way you think they must feel is just as bad, if not worse, than the original act itself. ---

[/QUOTE] Why do you think I want you to shut the hell up? I made an argument, and you didn’t rebut it or try to discuss it, you just called me Most Offended and accused me of trying to silence you. I don’t know why you think that or where you’re getting that from. This is a debate, so debate me and prove me wrong if you can. You’re trying to change the focus of this debate from the merits of your thesis to my motivations and tone. It doesn’t help prove your rightness any. And the point I’m trying to make is: you say there is no way you’d be harmed by sex with your teacher. I’m saying, it’s not the sex that would harm you. It’s the intimate interaction with a psycho when you’re too young to handle it properly. Can you acknowledge that’s a possibility? If not, why not? Don’t be silent. Defend your position. ---

I’ve made a mostly tongue in cheek observation that most of the approval of this kind of thing comes from people who are sexually aroused by the idea of doing it.
