I’m glad the board is back up so I can finally ask this burning question! ( 😉 ) OK, first of all, let’s talk Life Savers. There are three shades of mint they produce - Pepp-o-mint (peppermint), Wint-o-green (wintergreen) and Spear-o-mint (spearmint). Do we all know the difference between these tastes? Good. OK, Metadent used to make a “cool mint” flavored toothpaste, which tasted like wintergreen. Sadly, they don’t make it anymore, and I’ve been looking for a replacement. Sure, I like the baking soda and peroxide, but, more importantly, I liked the _taste_. I’ve tried at least four different brands and/or flavors, and they all have tasted like peppermint or spearmint - _none_ have tasted like wintergreen. Does anybody know of a toothpaste that does? ☹ Esprix ---

Try that Tom’s stuff (from Maine or something). They make a few different wint-o-green\*, pep-o-mint\*, etc etc flavors. \*Not actual flavor names ---

I use Tom’s of Maine wintermint flavor which is made with “wintergreen oil with other natural flavors”. I don’t know what the other natural flavors are. It just tastes like wintergreen to me. ---

OK, I’ve relented and sent e-mail to the major toothpaste manufacturers. So far only Metadent responded with what I already knew - they no longer make what I so long for. ☹ Esprix ---

Pepsodent is the best. The flavor of pepsin is much more agreeable to me than the “o” mints. I get a headache from peppermint (and hot dogs). ---

What about Rembrandt? If you look really closely at the graphic on this page, [http://store.yahoo.com/rembrandt-toothpaste/remplusperge.html](http://store.yahoo.com/rembrandt-toothpaste/remplusperge.html), I believe it says “Wintergreen Flavor” on the package. ---

I found Colgate to have a very nice wintergreen flavored toothpaste, just make sure you buy the right one. 🙂 ---

Well, it’s not wintergreen but the evil company that I allegedly work for just came out with some new [toothpaste](http://www.crestre.com/index.html) that has flavors like cinnammon and vanilla. Vanessa was even at the company cafeteria last week for a promotion. I didn’t get to go (I don’t work at that exact office and apparently the line was huge). Anyway, the link has a way to order a free mini-tube to try it out. Note that the target market is women (why women need a different toothpaste than men is a mystery to most of us, even within the company) but I don’t think that it’s a prerequisite. I almost sure I have at least two kinds, Colgate and Crest, that are wintergreen (I know what it tastes like and it says “wintergreen” on the box, I’ll check tonight) and paste, not gel. Is it that you haven’t tried these? Or can’t get 'em in the U.S.? Or tried 'em and didn’t like them? If a) or b) I’ll be glad to send you a bunch. Toothpaste in Canada is also way, way, cheaper than in the U.S. for some unknown reason. ---

I liked _all_ these suggestions. The main thing is it’s going to keep me from continuing to buy tubes of toothpastes marked “cool mint” or “clean mint” or something that doesn’t clearly say “wintergreen” until I by chance hit the right one. And the only little samplers I can find are the ones I’ve already tried.
