My work system is down. I can’t listen to any calls. I’ve been in the server all bleeding day. Yeah, I am grateful to have a job. But this part of it is boring! ---

**Chimera** , that dude sounds like Kommandant José Mari. My weekend shift had this foreman who was so laid back it would be his underlings who told him to wear his safety gear you moron. At one point, there was a weekday opening in the warehouse: lower pay, but the hours were tons better. He applied for it and, since under existing procedures there was no way they could refuse it to him, got it. Doesn’t mean the bosses were happy, though. So, the replacement they gave us was his exact opposite. On our first night with him as the foreman, the bottler (part-time worker, full-time college student) brought me a sample, I gave him the results, he treated it as behooves those results. JM nabbed him, called the fourth man in that shift, brought the bottler into the lab grabbing him by his coveralls and, once the fourth man (who had the bad luck to be JM’s cousin) had also arrived, proceeded to inform us that we were NOT to talk to each other, not to give results to each other, not to make any decisions, at all. He was the foreman, he was in charge, any decisions would be his and his only. I asked whether we could decide when to go pee and he said no, we had to phone in to him and get his permission. “To change tampons too?” “_after uncrossing his eyes_ No, not for that. But you need to call me and ask to go to the bathroom.” I was so happy when I moved up, up and away from that git… ---

Yeah, my boss wants us to email him when we go to the can and then email him when we get back. Not a chance. It takes me about 2 minutes to run to the can and back, I’m not going to more than double that by emailing you. Our last two bosses said we were supposed to chat them when we were going, but honestly, unless you were one of the 3-4 people who had a problem (ie, they were going outside to smoke instead), they never said a word if you didn’t. ---

I got a parking ticket this morning, along with about six other cars parked in front of the cycle shop while we were in for our AM training class. We all deserved it, though we thought the signs said we could park until nine, there was another sign below it that said no parking between 5 am and 7:30 am (we were there from about 5:45 to 7:30 or so). Anyhow, I’m not upset about the ticket (I never get upset about tickets if I deserve them), but I AM upset about the totally condescending Calgary Parking Authority guy. We genuinely didn’t know we couldn’t park there at that time, and he was such an asshole about it - “See, you see this sign right here? Look, look right here at this sign. What does it say? Thaaaaaat’s right, no parking between 5 and 7:30. Guess ya’ll missed it, eh? Too bad.” And then a tow truck pulls up so we all scrambled to get in to our vehicles and out of there. I sort of feel bad for those guys because that job must suck, but why do they have to be so rude about it? ---

Changing the clock back sucks balls. I’m trying to work on the yard a little bit each day after work and now it gets dark a half an hour after I get home. I am loving the cooler weather though. ---

He’s not a jerk for pointing out the sign or giving us tickets or calling the tow truck. He’s a jerk for treating us like we were shit on his shoe even though we all acknowledged we were wrong and apologized. You can tell someone they’re wrong without being condescending about it, but in his case, it’s like he already had his back up expecting us to yell and be angry. We were all the exact opposite, yet he stuck with his jerk attitude. ---

I mean, maybe his tone was just ridiculously sarcastic, but I’m just not seeing the motivation for this vitriol.
