Nice woman with the cute child at Dunkin Donuts this morning… Normally, when you are outside and see a tall kind gentleman coming out the main door, you have a choice: a) You can let him hold the door for you, like his mamma taught him to do b) You can open the door yourself and be polite as the two of you pass However, if you are outside and see the same gentleman coming out _with both hands filled_, the social rules change. It is customary for you to hold the door for anyone who cannot do so themself. I’m not sure why you said “thanks” as I stood back while you brushed on by, but you _did_ let the door slam in my face. I’ll just assume you were oblivious and give you the benefit of the doubt. I’m happy my coffee didn’t spill. ---

Stupid unregulated office heat system! Too hot in the winter and too cold in the summer, and seemingly no one in the building can change it for some reason. ---

On a similar note, **minorflat** , I was buying a lot of heavy masonry bricks this summer. As I was trundling my pallet loaded with 400 pounds of bricks through the store, I couldn’t believe how many people expected ME to go around them as they just walked around. Dudes, I’ve got entropy and mass on my side; you are going to WANT to get out of my way. ---

You have my sympathy. Thanks - I actually know a few cops that are pretty decent and I’ve never had a bad experience with the police here. I think the guy may have just been overexcited about giving out so many tickets first thing in the morning. ---

Layoffs today. Including one member of our very small office. Allegedly more coming next Tuesday–or maybe even next Tuesdays. Jebus H Motherfucking Christ on a Hobby Horse. I come in to find Jackass Drill Sergeant Supervisor spending about 10 minutes loudly berating one of our team members (not yelling, but speaking loud enough that I could hear every word from my desk about 50 feet away) about the tone of his voice on a call. Another person who had been there before I got there sent me a very upset chat message about it noting that Dunderhead had used the word “JERK” about 20 times in the course of the conversation. Very very unprofessional. ---

You should have approached him later and told him that he might be getting a complaint call about you from the “customer you had been on the phone with” during the tirade. Seems the “customer” thought you were calling him a jerk, and wouldn’t believe you when you told him that he was just overhearing normal background noise. 😃 ---
