I’m pretty much the opposite of a Microsoft fanboy, but I don’t see any reason not to at least migrate to Windows 7. Yes, Vista was terrible, and Windows 8 has a baffling interface, but Windows 7 works well and doesn’t have a big learning curve for Windows XP users. I worked a couple of years ago for an extremely backwards company. They still had a working PDP-11! They had a team of MUMPS developers!! Yet even they made the transition from XP to Windows 7 with minimal wailing and gnashing of teeth.
