I think one of Astro’s points was that while most people may not need the bandwith **right now** , with the take off of home automation, and conversion of computer to home entertainment systems, going for the higher bandwith right now, will give you the option of taking advantage of future gadgets that come out that will be bandwith heavy. Right now for example, [Tivo](http://www.tivo.com/4.9.7.asp) Does use 802.11b, but I highly suspect that the next iteration will be compliant with g.

So I’ll have to agree, I’d get a router/access point that supports both b and g, that way you at least have the option of using the higher bandwith standard later. If it were either a lot more money, or a lot more hassle, then I’d just go with b, but when you get down to it, it’s just not that much more expensive.

I have not added Wireless to my wired network yet, even though I have a Wireless router. So I wonder if the setup for it is with the router software or card software?
