[A man came home to an open door and a bit of a surprise.](https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/23/us/home-cleaned-by-stranger-while-he-was-at-work-trnd/index.html) The only surprises I come home to seem to involve my dog or cats. Altho, to be fair, I’d probably be as unnerved as this guy if it happened to me.

…or a very dedicated amateur.

This makes me think of all those crime films where they find that the victim has been killed by a single shot to the back of the head, or the room has no fingerprints, or something. I can visualize the crew from one of the _Law and Order_ franchises:

“Look, when’s the last time you found a toilet-paper rose in the bathroom? This was the work of a pro!”

I think that guy used to break into our house when I was a kid. When I returned home from school my bed was made and room tidied up.
