I’m sure that the series will pick up as it goes on, but the first two episodes haven’t been much like _Adventure Time_. Depressed people who hate their lives, mostly slow, and mostly dull. It appears to be aimed at an older audience than the original series. Not only the dull plot so far but the language (Fiona says “goddamn it” at one point, a certain other character mentions someone being “pissed”) and violence includes blood-splatter (if the original series was that graphic, I didn’t take note of it). > **[Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_Time:_Fionna_and_Cake)** > > Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake is an American adult animated television series. The opening looks boring. Hopefully there will be some kind mystical shenanigans by the end of the first episode. ---

Liked Adventure Time (mostly), liked AT: Distant Lands (mostly), but I never much liked the Fionna and Cake episodes. So it’s not starting off as a strong draw for me, but I guess I’ll check what the consensus is after all the episodes drop. It’s certainly a good creative team, so you never know. ---
