So this is really a **straight** sex act, as the older partner in question is apparently a male to female transsexual. Still, I wish I’d been there to see it. ---

I should have guessed that those wacky states would insist on doing things their own way. Anyhow - according to [this](http://teenadvice.about.com/library/weekly/qanda/blageofconsentchart.htm) site the age of consent for male/male sexual contact in New York State is 17. And, FWIW, I don’t recall ever reading a doper claim that sex with a 17 year old girl is statutor rape. Ever. ---

Well goodness knows if I was unhappy about my 17 yr old son dating a 32 yr old transgendered person, climbing up in a tree and performing lewd acts in front of passers-by would be a BIG wake up call. “Jesus, kid… and here I thought you were making an irresponsible decision. I know now that you two must really be in love!” Good grief. ---

Well, I _believe_ that the pre-surgery psych exam is designed to determine that the candidate is, in fact, tans-gendered. Person’s who are not actually transgendered (gay men who are unhappy with their gayness, for instance) have been known to seek out the reassignment surgery. I’m pretty sure that someone could be a depressive, kleptomanical, chronic-nosepicker, and still get the surgery, provided that they had been clinically determined to be transgendered. ---

Well, you’re looking at (a) does the person meet the criteria for the surgery, and (b) are there other issues going on that ought to be treated because they might affect the person’s wish for reassignment OR capacity to undergo the reassignment, which is a pretty profound change. A “depressive, kleptomanical, chronic-nosepicker” probably isn’t significantly out of touch with reality. Other clinical presentations might raise more issues about how good the person’s judgement is. If there were a nose-picking smiley, this would be my first opportunity to use it. ---

I don’t know about the younger guy but the older guy definitely needs some intensive psychological evaluation. I mean, _Vanilla_ Diet Pepsi? PUH-LEEZE!
