Yes, it’s a Family Guy quote but this is about mustaches. Maybe this should be in IMHO but since it may involve celebrities I will put it here. What are some of the greatest mustaches of our time? Personally, I think Tom Selleck’s [Magnum Mustache](http://tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:mRdtJt1RawRDZM:http://www.popcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/tom-selleck-magnum-pi-c10102602.jpg) was a great one. Frankly, Tom just doesn’t look right without a 'stache and his is well-suited to him. For understated elegance I like [Errol Flynn’s](http://majorlycool.com/media/1/20080117-errol-flynn-1937.jpg). Can’t clutter up a face like that with a big old pushbroom. Nope, his is just right. How about [Gene Shallit](http://tbn3.google.com/images?q=tbn:wLtvyq_jOew4fM:http://farm1.static.flickr.com/42/83509175_2997826e85.jpg)? Now there’s a Mustache, with a capital Must! It’s actually a little scary even but can you imagine Gene without that soup strainer? And would he still be the man he is today without his lip brow? Does it tickle? I’m in a weird mood and this will probably drop like a stone but feel free to contribute some great mustaches or mustache euphemisms, just keep it safe for work! ---

I think your choices were very good. Flynn’s cookie duster was one of the reasons I grew mine some 46 years ago. And Selleck was key to the revitialization of the mustache. I would have to say probably the most recognizable mustache in history would have to be Hitler’s toothbrush. It may have been run a distant second by Stalin’s mustache. For the British, the “I Want You” guy (John Bull?) on recruiting posters has to be the best known (with the possible exception of Hitler). I didn’t like it, but Clark Gable’s mustache was also very well know for a number of years. Speaking of mustache quotes, what was Emilo Esteves’ quote in the film _Stake Out_? Something to the effect of, “The relationship between a man and his facial hair is a very personal thing.” ---
