With trepidation, Benghazi

It seems your assessment of what I’m implying is wrong. I want Grayson on the committee for the very same reasons Heather Digby Parton does. And I agree with your assessment that Grayson will not be an inactive participant. I’m a big fan of investigative committees. Ask the questions. Demand answers. Don’t accept redacted files and emails as answers. Don’t accept demands that questions should not be asked. Issue subpoenas and enforce them. A lot of people STILL have a lot of UNANSWERED questions about who knew what when.

As the United States Representative for Florida’s 9th congressional district, Alan Mark Grayson is certainly qualified to sit on the Benghazi committee.

Thank you for that explanation.
I don’t agree with your (implied) belief that he will be hounding State and the WH for the truth. I believe that he will be hounding the other panel members and debunking their conspiracy claims.

Which is why I want him on the panel…

Holy Crap. (Underline added) we should put someone who thinks like you do on the Bridgegate committee.

How much does it pay and does it include per diem?

Ahem… I was responding to a post by BrainGlutton.

The difference is that the latter is almost never a typo.

Enough with the typo nonsense. Stick to the subject or take it to the Pit.

No Grayson. 5 Democratic Benghazi committee members:

Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD), Ranking Member, Committee on Oversight & Government Reform
Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA), Ranking Member, Armed Services Committee
Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-CA), Committee on Appropriations (Subcommittee on State & Foreign Operations), Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
Rep. Linda T. Sanchez (D-CA), Committee on Ways and Means (Subcommittee on Oversight)
Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Armed Services Committee, Committee on Oversight & Government Reform

Cummings is great. He’s been a great counterweight to Issa’s stupidity in the Benghazi hearings prior to this select committee.

Duckworth is also excellent. She’s got some bite. The others I have no idea who they are.

Adam Schiff did some wonderful work as a DA in New York City, and is one of the first Fictional Americans to be elected to national office.

He does seem to have a pretty good record.

Seems like the full package. See below.

Loves me my Tammy! At the risk of losing my congresswoman and getting a Tea Partier in exchange,

Duckworth/Grayson 2016!

Even if she stays silent, Duckworth’s *body *on camera will emphasize to all present or all viewing just how frivolous is the Republicans’ selective focus on this incident.

The cast has finally been selected and the stage is set. Now we can expect the remaining unanswered questions to actually be answered. Who knew what when. The answers could lead to other, even more interesting, questions being asked. The previously redacted (aka unreadable by most people) emails and files will be provided in a readable form - voluntarily or by subpoena, if necessary.

And, of course, everyone on the committee will work together to “uncover” the truth, no matter how embareassing that may be to the State Dept, White House, CIA, or the people demanding that some questions shouldn’t be asked.

Then: On to Christie and Bridgegate!

There simply aren’t any unanswered questions. This has all been hashed over ad nauseum. All this does is fire up the right wing hate machine.

what unanswered questions? Are you serious? Everyone knows this is political theater. I don’t see it working, however, and have no objection to a good forum for mocking Republicans for another 6 months.

The other thread is still open.

You say there are no unanswered questions. The Democrats have just (finally) selected 5 party members to participate in a Congressional investigation. The investigation is going to take place. I’m willing to wait and see what questions are asked and see how those questions are answered. I, personally, would like to know what Obama was doing during the armed assaults.

I don’t believe providing a plethora of unreadable emails and documents should be considered answering a question.
