The part where you said that we want to see television and movies without the disapproving oversight of judgmental elders (the part that I’m quoting) is something that (albeit to a lesser extent now) I’ve been struggling with ever since I hit my head on a doorframe in my bathroom seven years ago. I’m not going to go into details on how it happened, but ever since then (and you’ll likely think I’m crazy for saying this), I’ve been dogged in my mind by a voice that has yelled, “Immoral!” Believe it or not, this voice has dogged me for seeing stuff on DVD from long past that had much less sexual content and violence than now. Why do I say this? Because, IINM, there are some religious people (maybe televangelists) who not only screech out against all the stuff that’s on now for being too sexual, but also screech out (and have so done) against the medium in general, both past and present, simply for existing (probably because people who are watching and enjoying any kind of television [or who are being entertained in any way] will be going to hell for not constantly being on their knees in prayer to escape this sinful world; worse, they’re not constantly being ready for the Rapture, the last days, the End Times, the tribulation, those sorts of things!). ---

Ooh, my first contribution to a zombie thread in 12 years! We tell ’ em we’re Jewish (which is half true) and biscuit-bribe our two pit bulls to slaver at the door.\* I don’t endorse shooting JWs with bullets, but could BBs be okay? These are The Crazies who let their kids bleed to death when God fails to save ’ em. They also yank their kids around to prosyletize. \*We’re actually plagued more by candy bar sellers who knock at 9pm and say they’re fundraising for their HS band/football program. No, dude, you’re like 30-years-old. Get off my lawn!! Oh, pit bulls, report for duty! ( The Pitts actually adore people, so bribes to be scary are ineffectual). ---
