“640K is more memory than anyone will ever need on a computer” said Bill Gates, never.
Obviously, d_m doesn’t know that bytes can pile up in old wires. Just a quick shot of 440v will clear out the blockage.
Ya know who really hates witnesses?
Hit and run drivers.

Just a side note - we have cable and we have a modem. At work we sell both cable and dsl modems. That’s what they are called.
Is this “libel” in the way that making fun of people whose books are sold in health stores is “libel”?
Now that shows how much you know. I have a Dell Inspiron 570 with 2 gb memory. I have dial-up because I’m not the one who pays the bills here, and I don’t have the authority to have lines run through the walls.
I had DSL Extreme added a few years ago. They piggybacked it onto the outside junction box where the phone line enters our apartment, and gave me a DSL modem and enough line filters to place one on each extension jack. The service can be obtained for as low as $15/mo, IIRC, and looks to be available in your area.

Well, when the Dalai Lama pays the bills here, he can make the rules.
No, “making fun” is one thing. Being denied identity is another!

Perhaps you could explain what the ever-loving fuck you’re talking about for once?
How do you block them? Stuff chewing gum in the line in slot?
Ummm. That I don’t know. Maybe smack one really hard with a block of wood?
:Sigh: The Wikipedia administration declared me a “sock puppet” (false identity) and barred me from editing. THAT is libel!
According to AOL, the “initialization” of the modem could not be effected. That’s all I know.
No it isn’t. It’s a minor inconvenience at worst.
Or a mistake. Not everything is a grave offense.
Not even close.
