I need to make one thing clear. I was not telling you what I think. I am telling you what is happening and why. It seemed you were all looking at the little details and did not see the big picture.

Maybe Howard Dean can get in in 04. And he can try his (we are so sorry, let’s run away) method of dealing with it. Maybe he can propose a peace treaty with the terrorists. Oh I forgot we should die because we won’t bow to Allah. Might be a hard sell.

I think what scares you the most is most americans think like I do. Which is, we have around 3000 dead people in the 911 attack. We have the guns and the money and we are not going to take it from these people. I don’t care what we might have done to them in the past. They are going to stop it or they will die.

Don’t think “scare” is the word. More like terror, shock, horror and dismay.

Try to get this through your head. Pound it in like a nail if you must. There is no evidence…_none whatsoever_…that ties Iraq to 9/11. This makes about as much sense as if FDR declared war on China for Pearl Harbor.

And keep in mind: Fearless Misleader was perfectly content to let that misperception fester in the public mind for two years before he stated the obvious. Perhaps it is acceptable to you to allow people to believe something that isnt so, when you _know_ it isn’t so, because it is to your advantage. Some of us have rather more strict ideas about “honesty”.

But, as Ms. Rice points out, the President is “not a fact checker.”

So this little old Jewish man is sitting on a park bench, and a little old Chinese man sits next to him and starts feeding the pigeons. The old Jewish guy takes one look at him and whacks him across the knees with his cane.

“OWWWW! What the hell did you do that for?”

“THAT was for Pearl Harbor!”

“You dumb shit! It was the Japanese who attacked Pearl Harbor! I’m not Japanese, I’m _Chinese_!”

“Japanese, Chinese, Burmese…whats the difference?”

The old Chinese guys stares for a moment, and then stomps the old Jewish guy’s toe as hard as he can and yells:

“That’s for sinking the Titanic!”

Old Jewish guys rubs his foot and says:

“You dumb fuck! And _iceberg_ sank the Titanic!”

“Iceberg, Weissberg, Goldberg…”

Yes, I know 911 does not equal Saddam. Saddam was a whipping boy. The people of the united states know that. President bush thought saddam might and I mean might want to help a group of people with another 911 type attack he had no proof. Saddam was in violation the the UN cease fire so this meant Bush had his whipping boy. The average person in the US knows Saddam was used as a (Hey do you want some of this!) and they think it’s a good idea. This is not talked about but everybody knows it.

Most Americans do _not_ think like you do, thank goodness. But yes, the thought that even a few people think like you is scary. You do great damage to the USA and to the world. When barbarians like you manage to take over a country it sets humanity back a few centuries. Thank goodness there is no danger of that happening in the USA any time soon.

Unfortunatelly my view of things is that the Bush administration has a pinch of two of BeatenDam on it…

God you are a fucking idiot. We are wasting precious time, squandering good will, and wasting shitloads of money going after the _wrong_ people.

Open your eyes you blind ignorant monkey.

Starting a war and getting people killed vs. speaking uncivilly about it. Quite an exact moral equivalence there.

**BeatenDam** , do me a favor and shut your piehole. Please.

You are doing me and my fellow rational conservatives a severe injustice. In fact, I so very much want you to shut the hell up that I’m willing to take back the heat that was on me before you opened up with your nonsense.

Don’t worry **Airman Doors, USAF** I don’t think any less of you and your fellow conservatives because of the mindless drivel of the **BeatenDam** type posters. 😉

All kidding aside- yeesh, what’s with that guy? I disappear because of the hurricane and our nice little thread was hijacked by someone who sat way too close to the TV as a child.

Here are a few interesting Cites for everyone:

> [@](#):
>
> Now, however, Bush is largely at the mercy of events outside his control. Without any more major tax cuts or international conflicts anticipated before next year’s election, Bush is without a major policy offensive as he waits, amid domestic and international criticism, to see if the economy and the situation in Iraq improve. Transforming Iraq and the Middle East, while lofty goals, are amorphous, long-term projects.
>
> “It’s much more difficult to define victory,” Republican strategist Scott Reed said. “You’re faced with a point where the goal has been moved months down the calendar. You can’t just wave a political magic wand and fix it. Things on the ground need to improve.”
>
> Events on the eve of Bush’s address to the U.N. General Assembly underscored the trouble. U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan’s spokesman decried the “deteriorating security situation in Iraq” after a suicide bomber struck the U.N. compound in Baghdad for the second time in as many months. Meanwhile, Pakistani and French leaders made it clear that they are unlikely to send troops to Iraq, the latest evidence that the Bush administration will not be getting significant help in Iraq.
>
> The administration’s critics say the problem is Bush’s failure to drop a hard-charging approach in favor of more nuance. “The smart thing to do is be less muscular and more diplomatic, but they’re not going to do that,” said Ivo Daalder, a Brookings Institution scholar who worked in the Clinton administration. “Their underlying principle is the way you achieve your objectives is through the use of power, and because we have more power than anybody else we should get our way. Negotiating with allies and international institutions is alien to their view of the world.”

This can be seen with the incredibly poor P.R. sense of the politically challenged Dick Cheney in action: Energy Policy closed door meeting cover-up disaster, No-Bid contract black eye, and now this gem of international diplomacy:

> [@](#):
>
> “Is France an ally or an adversary of the United States?” Cheney demanded to know, according to U.S. officials.
>
> It was an extraordinary question to direct at a putative partner in the transatlantic alliance, a government that dispatched troops in support of U.S. efforts in Afghanistan and the Balkans, and a reliable participant in the anti-terrorism war. Levitte, who protested that France was indeed a partner, was stunned by Cheney’s directness.
>
> Relations between France and the United States, often tense, have rarely been less friendly than this year. Only months after the diplomatic blowup over the invasion of Iraq, which became so personal that French toast on menus on Capitol Hill and Air Force One was renamed freedom toast, the two countries are dueling again, this time over who should control Iraq’s reconstruction.

Smooth. Gee wonder why old George isn’t too popular in Europe? And who pays for his mistakes- the American tax-payer and worse, American soldiers.

However, there is a ray of light for those dispairing over the rein of the idiots:

> [@](#):
>
> Retired Army Gen. Wesley K. Clark, who jumped into the presidential race just a week ago, is leading the nine other Democratic candidates and tied with President Bush in a head-to-head matchup, according to a new CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll.
>
> Clark, who has yet to detail the agenda he will run on, bested Bush 49 to 46 percent in the poll, which is within the survey’s margin of error. The poll was conducted Sept. 19-21, right after Clark launched his campaign in Little Rock. It is the first major poll showing Bush trailing a Democratic candidate.
