well, not just ebay, I went down a waffle-warren on a whim today. I found my vintage 1950s sunbeam waffle iron priced for $45 on a site called offerup, $105 on ebay and $129 on etsy šŸ¤Æ So have you ever done this, just gone window shopping for something you already have just to see what people are asking for it? ---

Oh sure, my coin collection, my Superman #17 from the 1940ā€™s, various bits of art Iā€™ve accumulated by different artists, the tool collection I inherited from my dad. The Hummel collection I inherited from my mom. Some stuff is worth a lot, others arenā€™t worth the effort to try to sell. But so far Iā€™ve not sold anything yet. As you said, ā€˜window shoppingā€™. ;-D ---

Iā€™ve never done that before, but now I am tempted to. I guess my only ā€œvintageā€ appliance is the Sunbeam Mixmaster stand mixer from circa 1975, in a very period yellow with fake wood trim. It was a hand-me-down from my parents, who got it as a wedding present. I kind of doubt anyone is selling those for big money, though. I did used to collect old computers, though. Common stuff like Commodore 64s probably arenā€™t worth much, but I do have an Intel Intellec 8 from circa 1974 that could be worth something. It actually predates the Altair, but itā€™s not considered the first PC because it wasnā€™t marketed to consumers. Of course, there is that phrase thatā€™s oft repeated on _Pawn Stars_ ā€“ just because someoneā€™s _asking_ that much for something doesnā€™t mean people are _paying_ that much for it. ---

A copy of a college literary magazine I edited is on Amazon for $17 plus $5 delivery. I have several copies and could undercut this, but itā€™s also been on offer there for years. I have a paperback novel that I sometimes see offered for over $100, but thatā€™s the asking price and not, apparently, a price at which anyone is interested in purchasing it. ---

We are still using the Toastmaster waffle iron that my wife brought to the marriage 30 years ago. Iā€™m pretty sure she had it for the preceding 20 years. It works as well as it did when new and Iā€™ll be sad if it ever conks out. ---

When I saw how much original Veg-O-Matics were going for on eBay, I sold the second-hand one I owned but no longer used for a $30 profit, and I found another one at a garage sale and sold it for about the same markup. ---

I may have mentioned that **kaylasmom** , in a previous life, was a _chanteuse_, singing primarily pop and jazz standards. In late 1980, she entered a collaborative partnership with a Los Angeles songwriter with whom, in addition to club dates, she entered some music competitions, and in one of them, won a cash award with which they decided to self-produce an album. At least two copies of the resulting album are currently on eBay (one in the US, on offer for about $35; and at least one in Japan, with an asking price of Ā„1750 - Ā„7400). I learned this when I did a google search of her name. ---

Hehehe, I have a big blue+red Univox SUPER-FUZZ guitar pedal that I traded a chorus pedal for back in '89 or so. Worth somewhere between $600-$1000 now. Iā€™ve checked the prices of some of my old games and such. I also kept track of the price of my cheapo GPU during the graphics card shortage. The used price got up to over double what I paid new. ---

Anyone who was in the American military will tell you that the National Defense Medal is kind of a joke. EVERYBODY gets one. Sort of a ā€œparticipantā€ award. About a year ago I saw one for sale on Craigā€™s List for $17,000. Yes. Seventeen thousand dollars! Dude said it was a symbol of his manhood. šŸ¤£ You can get brand new ones on eBay for 4 bucks. ---
