Yea, I read that too. People have pulled lame scams before but this is lame beyond lame! You don’t suppose the (ahem) “con artist” is … er … mentally challenged? I mean, seriously … this is along the lines of trying to use Monopoly money! ---

I can’t tell from the story whether she is extraordinarily stupid or she thought Wal-Mart clerks are. Probably a little of both. ---

Going by her picture, I’d say she comes from a long line of inbreeders. She probably got the bill from her cousin/brother/husband as payment for the coon dawg washing she did last weekend. 😃 ---

Well, it worked for [Henry Adams](http://www.bibliomania.com/0/5/54/224/15644/1/frameset.html). Maybe she thought it would work for her too. Realistically, you have to go with “mind-bogglying stupid”. Even if the clerk thought it was a real bill, there wouldn’t be enough money in the store to generate change. ---

First post to the SDMB! I saw this article and had to comment. Except all that came to mind when I read it was a few strangled sounds of disbelief that someone could be THAT stupid. But then I stop to reflect on all the customers I have had in retail and customer service and it becomes much more believeable. ---

Thanks, htns. It’s nice to find a place to get away from the inane parts of life. 🙂 I’d love to see someone bring ME a million dollar bill. As a teller I’ve seen counterfeit 20’s and 50’s and 100’s. Some of them you wonder how they even got into circulation they’re so obvious!
