It strikes me as unjust that this fellow’s getting charged with a potential life sentence. How is he at all liable for the death? There was no coercion involved, the allergy was not known (probably the possibility even known **of** ) and medical care was sought promptly after the woman became ill. Where’s this guy’s crime? It didn’t look like he was being charged with the the death. Apparently, dog-on-human sex (or arranging such) alone can carry a life sentence in Ireland. I don’t know how it works in Ireland, but in at least some parts of the US, an accidental death that occurs as part of, or is the result of, committing a felony is considered murder, not manslaughter. That doesn’t seem to be what’s happening here, though. Now, I strongly suspect he’d get a much lighter sentence if the death hadn’t happened, and I agree he’s not responsible for that. I’m not a semenologist, but it never would have occurred to me someone might have a fatal allergic reaction to dog semen. Now, that may be because I don’t think I’ve ever been in, nor seriously considered, a situation where that scenario would come up, but I’m fairly certain that even should such a situation have occurred, I wouldn’t have thought of it. – I like dogs. **AS A FRIEND.** ---
