I agree. To me a safari, today, is not hunting. I’d think if hunting was a part of it then you’d say, “hunting safari.” I do not know if there are any standards to this though. And, while most safaris are just to view the wildlife there is still a robust hunting business there too. It may be smaller but costs more and is a lucrative source of income for those countries. It should not be ignored as too small to consider. ---

They still do hunting safaris- which can be fine if they are shooting excess animals and the meat is being used by the natives. ---

Talk about miles and miles with precious little to demolish. FWIW I think that “safari” could be properly used to describe either a hunting or non-hunting trip to wilderness reserves in Africa. ---

Mr.Wrek gets notifications/invites of _Feral hog safaris_ in Texas. My, rather, limited understanding is they mean you can shoot as many as you want. A _Hog hunt_ means there’s a bag limit. So every hunter gets a shot. He doesn’t go anymore, they’ve gotten too expensive. Plus we have our own issue with hogs here. For free🤔 ---
