I tend to find people who judge people based on their sitting position to be assholes. Forty-five degrees is a really small angle, and if you’re getting all bent out of shape about it, you’re the one with a problem. And if you’re sitting so close as to need that extra room, you’re too close in the first place. Spread legs don’t take up any more room than having your arms at your side. The only people that deserved to be judged are people who go around making up shitty reasons for other people doing things that slightly annoy them, so they can justify to themselves getting overly upset about it. I have very little respect for such people. In fact, that makes me less likely to acquiesce to their demands. ---

After 7 hours on bike I can walk a bit funny - but sitting any other way has never been uncomfortable. I do tend to be a shifter though, changing positions often which might make the difference. ---

Besides, the women like it. > Don’t you girls? 😉 No. Can’t speak for the rest but: when you’re sitting beside me in a train or bus, you’re hogging my space, guys who do that are also the ones who think the middle armrest is their personal property and whose elbows surpass said armrest’s edge on my side, and who need to be told explicitly “stick your arm in, I’m trying to switch gears!” when they’re on the copilot’s seat. Then again, those guys don’t usually go on the copilot’s seat. Too mach-o to let a woman do the driving, you know… Oh, and to answer the OP, I don’t like being in any given position for too long, but my girly bits don’t have any problem with me sitting down properly. ---
