After they got her to say the model of the copier, they asked if it was correct. She replied, “Yes”. They then took the recording of her saying her name, the “yes”, and made an entirely new recording where it sounded like she placed and order, giving her name, the model of the copier, and when asked if the billing address was correct, yes. We were able to get out of it, but it was a lot more involved than just not paying for and not returing some toner. If you get any cold calls for toner, just hang up. ---

I’m also the person who does all of the purchasing for the office, and we have very specific places we order from, so I’m never going to be accepting anything from random people over the phone, anyway. ---

They try to get someone who does ordering but isn’t quite clear on who they order from… Our calls have gone something like this. - This is blah blah from Xerox. We’re calling to tell you that your toner for your blah blah machine is going up next month and want to know if we should get ANOTHER order out to you before the prices increase.\* Employee agrees thinking they are just restocking from who they normally buy from. Therefore, nothing was sent without authorization. ---
