My feet are so big that I have to wear men’s shoes. My feet don’t look gigantic though. The thing is, my feet are proportional to my size, but I’m very tall, so my feet are also big. ---

What bitchy things to say—You have big feet/You’re a porker. ?? She’s going to have a hard time fitting in with that attitude. You can take the high road and just ignore her, or you can be straight with her and say something like “I’m sorry you feel like you have to put me down in order to feel better about yourself.” I don’t know if she’s turning other people off, too, but if she thinks her outside is pretty, it’s not matching her insides. ---

There are also advantages to not making fun of others and calling them names, and to not being so invested in a soccer game (or any number of other things that are beyond one’s control) that having your team lose ruins your whole week. I imagine that you look just fine, and from what I’ve read here I’d much rather spend time with you than with her. ---

Americans do have larger feet than people in many other countries. I think it’s not just genes, I think it’s also because we let our kids wear larger, looser shoes. Feet conform to the space they have as they grow, to a large extent. I figure that larger feet probably work a little better at holding your weight, though, so I see that as a good thing. 😉 Anyway, size 9.5 shoes sound a little on the large size to me, but not so much as to be worth commenting on, or even noticing. Have you considered looking for a different room mate? ---

I’m mystified that anyone notices or cares. My feet (and my sister’s feet) are slightly larger than my mother’s, but you know what? I didn’t jam them into heels or constraining shoes for decades. I also don’t have crippling toe deformities such as my mother and her generation are now needing to have surgically addressed after crunching their feet into small shoes in a Western version of foot binding. By my age, she was already hobbling. My feet are in great shape. ---

The two of us have a love-hate relationship. She’s surprisingly very trustworthy (she can keep any secret) and is a fairly agreeable person about 60% of the time. We weren’t that great of friends back in college, but living together as dorm mates got us used to each other. When we graduated, she wasn’t planning on heading back to Brazil, and I was planning on staying in Chicago, so the two of us decided to become roommates. It’s the other 40% of the time that drives me nuts! :smack: ---

Haha, I laughed when I saw this thread. Girl, you do not have big feet at all. I’m 5’11" and a size 13 in women’s. Trust me, I WISH I had your shoe size. If I was living with your roommate, she’d get the biggest kick in the ass from me. ---

I wear a 9 or 9-1/2 and as others have said, it’s such a non-issue. I can’t get over that she only weighs 100 pounds though. That sounds scary thin. ---
