And the key take away is that group based or collective judgement and treatment is the problem. Excusing it because one group of bigots hasn’t been able to act upon their prejudices isn’t helpful. The truth of the matter is that people don’t really want to give up the concept of collective benefits and punishments. They just want them to go in the direction that they personally benefit from.

> Sure, there are some men who are like that. But some women are indeed misandrist and open about it; it’s not a misrepresentation of them.

No doubt some women are misandrist. I mean, Pauline Harmange is the subject of this thread. But, at least in my experience, it’s much more common that the man with a stick up his ass about some woman he characterizes as “hating men” does so, as @Ann_Hedonia observes, because the woman doesn’t fit his gender-role stereotype and rather reflect on the possibility that he might have to rethink his attitudes on women. Somehow, I’ve gone through almost 46 years of my life without running into these “man-haters” while some of my more misogynist acquaintances seem to run into them left and right. I suppose it could be bad luck on their part, good luck on my part, but the smart money is on a problem with them and how they interact with these women and interpret their actions.

I agree with your point, but I would say you probably have run into some women with an active dislike for men, but never got to discover that.

I consider myself pretty personable and generally get on well with the vast majority of people I meet. But, can’t win em all. And if someone is randomly rude to me, I don’t bother to analyze whether it was my gender, race or just the structure of my face that irked them.
