I’m going to try to keep this as dignified as possible… Though I realize most women and men either pluck or trim their nose hair as needed, sometimes I see women whose nostrils appear as though they are completely devoid of any hair. IOW, as though they have been waxed in one of those chic nose-hair salons. (Yes, I manage to notice other aspects of women, but this is my current area of interest.) Is this hairlessness most probably the result of: (a) lucky genetics (2) very frequent trimming (iii) plucking; or (IV) some sort of European waxing technique I’m not aware of? Which technique tends to produce the best results–short term and long? Enquiring minds want to know. ---

Are they smokers? for some reason I notice lady smokers have no hair there. Could just be the man/woman thing as men have nose hair & ear hair that women don’t. ---

I’ve never, ever had to pluck or trim any nose (or ear) hair, and I inherited my dad’s hairy genes. (No jokes, I’m just a bit on the hairy side, nothing extreme.) I think it’s got to be sex-linked. But WHY, I haven’t a clue. ---

The only times I’ve noticed hairless nostrils are in babies. I’m female, an on-and-off smoker, and have hair in my nose. I thought everyone did (minus the babies, that is.)Perhaps you aren’t looking far enough into the nostril to notice the hair? Hehehe. ---

This is something I’ve noticed over the years–especially with Vogueish looking women. I’m not saying their nostrils are completely hairless, it just appears to me that what is visible is so. ---

I have no idea what the heck I just wrote. What I mean is: their nostrils appear completely hairless and I’m wondering how this is possible. Using a personal hair trimmer doesn’t produce these results. ---

I would believe it as far as media images go–one can airbrush away just about anything. In person, I don’t know what to tell you. Perhaps they shove Nair up their noses? \ What a topic! One I never thought I’d be talking about in a public message forum. (Not that I’m complaining.) 🙂 ---

I once had a nasal hair that got turned around and emerged through the skin on the tip of my nose. It was very painful while working its way to the surface. The pain ended as soon as it emerged. I plucked it, and it never grew back. The experience was kind of interesting, in a disgusting sort of way. Has this happened to anyone else? ---

I’m female, and have only had to pluck one errant hair out of my nose in my 45 years of existence. Oh my lord, never again. How do you guys do that!!?! It stung so much that I think my mother felt it. Fortunately I’m not very hirsute. Except for that one bruiser, the hairs in my nose are pretty small and I don’t think very noticeable. That is, they haven’t grown, so perhaps there is a testosterone response that makes guys have hairy noses? I don’t know of many women that pluck their nostrils, but maybe that’s just something that doesn’t come up in conversations easily. At least I don’t have to [go through this](http://www.nobodyhere.com/justme/nose.html). Amazing what a Google search on “nasal hair” will produce. ---

Gross, KenP! Yes, I’ve “plucked” a hair cuz it was sticking out before, but not because it grew THROUGH my nose (and doing so always makes me sneeze!) I need to by a trimmer. ---

Maybe they are like eyebrow hairs where if you keep plucking them they don’t grow back anymore? ---

I don’t have an nasal hair. I mean, I’ve never stuck a mirror up my nose to look, but I sure as hell have never noticed any. Never thought about it before, either. Am I a mutant?
