[This thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=647779) may lack the subtlety that we on the SDMB have come to expect, but it does raise an interesting question, at least to me. A few years ago, a young female friend of mine told me that she’d never kissed a girl. Given the behavior of other young female aquaintances of mine, I was pretty surprised. Most young women I knew had at least tested the waters of the fairer sex, though not always with gusto. Then again, I was working in a bookstore at the time, which may have colored my perceptions. So how about it, women? Is at least SOME same-gender niftiness as common among the younger ladies as I seem to think? Along the same lines, has there really been a change generationally, or has this been \*de rigeur \*for a good long while? Poll coming. ---

Born in '74. I kissed a girl in college to tease the boys. (And get free drinks.) I was straight then. I’ve had sex with (for varied definitions of sex) half a dozen women, mostly in MFF threeways. I was bisexual then. (That is, I wasn’t having sex with the women to titillate or excite the man, even though there was a man present. I was having sex with the women because I wanted to have sex with the women. And the man.) I consider myself straight now, as it’s been many years since I’ve been sexually attracted to a woman. I do not believe sexuality is fixed, and accept that someday (due to hormonal changes, life experiences or just finding the Right Person and that person happening to have a vagina) I may one day be bisexual or lesbian. Never know. ---

Nope. I’m 26, and I’m attracted to women, but I’ve had very little experience with anyone due to reticence and a long relationship which just ended. I’ve only made out with three people in my life, all three happened to be men. ---

God dammit, I was born before Jan 1 1980 and I can’t fucking read. I have kissed a woman but that was in a game of “spin the bottle” like a month ago where it was 2 lesbians, a bi female, a gay male and straight old me.
