Plenty of women have PCOS, which has a side-effect of the a fore-mentioned darker facial hair. It’s also a problem as you get older. Now, you can wax 'em, or Tria 'em, but most mornings, it’s just so much easier to swipe a razor along underside of the chin.

It’s not a big deal.

I have peach fuzz on my upper lip that I used to wax (since I do that for a part-time job anyway), but when I started taking Accutane and using Retin-A, waxing became tricky. They actually sell single blade razors at the beauty supply for this exact purpose. It helps exfoliate, and take off dry skin (especially awesome in the winter or for aging skin since it can look “dull”).

Yep, I do this when the peach fuzz gets overwhelming. No shaving gel or lotion, I just use my regular facial cleanser. I’ve done this for the past two decades. It’s cheaper and easier than any other solution.

45-year-old woman here who sprouts both dark and clear/grey (!) chin hairs. I pluck daily, and about once a week I take an electric shaver to my upper lip and chin. I shave my legs with a blade, but can’t imagine ever taking one to my face.

There are also “groomers” like this battery-operated one that aren’t exactly razors. They don’t have a link to the video but they used it all over the face.

Geez. One more thing for us to do. I’m just happy cold weather is here, because I can stop shaving my legs from the knee down-- something I do for work, because I have gorilla legs if I don’t. Actually, I kinda wonder why I don’t have facial hair, given how dark the hair on my legs is, and how think the hair on my head is, but it isn’t terribly think under or on my arms, and my pubic hair grows like an inch down my thighs, so I guess I have a top/bottom difference (excepting my head hair). Haven’t hot menopause, though. We’ll see.

I don’t wear make-up, not even a little, but if I did, I’m not about to shave for it. Sheesh.

I think I’d shave a moustache, though, if the deity decides I need one after menopause, because stuff like that tended to bug me-- like hangnails, scabs, hair that escapes a braid, facial hair on men I dated-- so I think facial hair on me would be a distraction. Also, it’s bad enough having people staring at my boobs. Having them look cross-eyed at my moustache, then down at my boobs, and back, etc., would make me stabby.

I shave the peach fuzz about once a week because my makeup does sit better on my skin without it.

There have been a couple threads about this already. Someone posted about these little things that work really well on the whole face, but I just use them for above my eyebrows (precision!) and a regular razor on the easier part.

I have fuzz on my upper lip. I keep it at bay by shaving it every morning.

I also have whiskers that sprout under my chin and jaw. A few swipes of the razor and they disappear for the day.

I don’t think this is that big of a deal.

Atta Girl! 😃 [www.fendrihan.com](http://www.fendrihan.com)

As a) a nearly 50 yo male who grows a beard every winter I can attest to the itching being a little unbearable sometimes but a good scrub n the shower with shampoo eases it a fair bit. After a while , you just learn to either ignore it or shave the sucker off.
b) I’ve dated a few hirsute ladies when I was younger and while a full beard would definitely take some getting used to, I could probably adjust. I’m not sure how well that would go over in public, though. Look at all the flack Julia Roberts got years ago for not shaving her armpits…

My 11 year old daughter has started doing this. She has very dark hair over her lip. We did the Nair for Faces thing a few times but it started irritating her skin so now she just takes a razor to it every few days. I wish we had a more long-lasting solution.

She also shaves her arms. She was blessed with gorgeous thick black hair. Unfortunately it’s all over, not just on her head.

And comments like _that_ are why some women get emotionally frantic over this sort of thing.

Newsflash: adult human women have hair. Get over it.

Thanks for questioning my femininity and that of other contributors to this thread, by which I mean no thanks, you’re being an offensive jackass. I am going to be generous and assume you were trying to be funny but that sort of remark is extremely insensitive and can cause a lot of heartache. Please don’t ever do that again. It really pisses me off when people imply I’m less a woman for having any sort of hair on my face or limbs.

I used to tweeze my chin hairs but as I got older it seemed like there were more and more of them. I was thinking about electrolysis and started to research it and read somewhere that tweezing damages (bends?) the follicles so electrolysis is more difficult. I started shaving my chin and the one side of my upper lip that grows facial hair hoping it would help and found it to be quick and easy. I don’t think about electrolysis anymore.

Peach fuzz on the rest of my face wasn’t a problem for me until one day at the right angle in a certain light I saw a peach fuzz hair that was about 2" long. I checked and yes, it was attached. I shaved it off and it does grow back faster (but not darker) than any other hair on my face.

I have a pact with my bestie that if either of us winds up in a coma in a hospital we will go and pluck the other’s chin hairs. Now that’s sisterhood! 😃

I think I might have a decent goatee (if such a thing exists) if I didn’t shave my chin pretty much every day. I wax the mustache once a month or so, along with some stuff just under my bottom lip that isn’t dark, just weirdly long.

I sometime curse the day I thought to myself “what if I just shaved this?” because I feel like that’s how it became a thing I had to do all the time. (Note: I do not _have_ to, and I am very aware of that. But I do it because it makes me feel better, just like shaving my legs.)
