**Anonymous User** is the OP, **R3d\_Anonymous**. They likely originally signed up as **Anonymous User** and was later asked to change it because it looked like there was something wrong with their account - but anyone posts quoting them from before the name change would still show the original user name. ---

My husband is 5’7" so I can definitively say I would not reject a man for being 5’7". ---

Yeah, I would - he’d be too tall :D. Seriously though: I’m 5’11" - and my husband is 5’6". Friends of ours once compared us to Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan, who are similarly proportioned. They thought Fox/Pollan looked weird together but Typo and I looked normal. They realized this was silly, and was most likely because they knew us, while Fox/Pollan weren’t as “real” to them. I won’t rule out that shorter men might have trouble attracting mates. There’s likely an evolutionary reason: taller = better at finding food and better at providing for and protecting the family, or something. And let’s face it, I will never be literally swept off my feet by my man a la every romance move ever. . Figuratively, maybe, if he trips me, but I’m an independent woman and can generally manage tripping all on my ownsome. (I’m quite good at that, actually 😱 😜) I don’t think the “I’m too short, I can’t ask HER out” mentality applied to us. We met in a group setting (Freshman year at college) and got to talking and found common interests - sci-fi and bad puns - right off the bat, and I was actually dating someone else at first, so we were just friends. ---

Women compete with each other, and a short male partner is low or even negative status points. It’s shallow but (some? most?) women wouldn’t be caught dead being seen with a short guy in the company of other women. FTR, I was 5’7" when I married my 5’10" wife. ---

I am just under 5’7" at 72 years old. Plenty of women I have been interested in seemed to prefer taller men but I have also not had any problem finding women who were fine with my height.
