Women's Clothes - I'm Mad as Heck, and I'm Not Going to Take it Anymore

If you’re hard to fit shoe-wise, I’d suggest a trip to Nordstrom. Still pricey, but again, very much worth it. Their shoe department is second to none, as they tend to stock many unusual (read: large, wide, narrow) shoes in most “normal” styles. Plus, if your feet are different sizes, they’ll let you buy a mismatched pair.

I am the same!! 5’3" and curvy as well… small waist and larger hips and thighs… much larger on bottom than on top. This makes jeans shopping a joy - and when I try on dresses, the top is huge (due to my small breasts) and the bottom too damn tight!! Maybe if I wore it upside down…

NO, I do not want to wear a baby doll t-shirt. I am a size 24, I do not have a sixpack. I do not want my stomach in the breeze like that. It is not attractive!!

I do not wear hip huggers for the same reason.

I do not care what my bra size is, I want colored bras, I would occasionally like them to be sheer, that is NOT a request. I managed to find one, and if i could get ahold of others, I would buy them. Just because i am big does not mean that I wish to wear tents.

Do you see the shirt I am wearing now, yeah that one, dingleberry, the white camisole with the bit of embroidery at the top. This is my favorite, please, please, please make some more, I will buy them.
How about the pair of shorts, denim and knee length, i want some more of those too!

Do you se those forlorn looking t-shirts ? I need some more of those, in all colors, NO I am Not interested in the Budweiser tshirt, thanks much, asswrench. I would not wear it.

For the last time, I cannot wear those shoes, they are not wide enough. Cute, though, but not wide enough, make them wider and the world will beat a path to your door.

Do you think i am asking for too much?

What’s so surprising about that?

Yup, it sucks to go shopping anymore. My body is not what I want it to be to begin with but I also hate, hate,HATE the trend today. I was telling my girlfriend just the other day how I am so thankful I was in high school during the “preppy” phase vs. today, the “70’s throwback” phase.
I was 5’5" and ~115 pounds in high school and let me tell you, I would have looked horrible in those waist-cut-off jeans and body hugging tops that are so popular today. I have relatively big hips and a small chest. The styles today only look cute on girls with big chests and no hips. Every other figure type that tries to squeeze into this style end up looking ridiculous. Nothing like having rolls hanging over the side to make you feel super attractive. And the bathing suits – don’t even get me started on tankinis.

I have a wedding to go to in a few weeks. Guess I’ll have to go out and try to find a dress. How depressing.

I’m 30 pounds overweight too, but I can’t shop in the fat lady section anymore.

But last October I was 200 pounds and my man decided it was time to get married. When I was the fattest I’ve ever been in my entire life! I tried to cope. We headed out for a dress. BIG MISTAKE! They all looked like they were made for 80 year old women, and even then I don’t get why they’d be anyone’s choice.

And also, right now I find that there’s no point shopping in the misses section of any store anywhere. I mean did I miss something? Since I’m now 25 am I supposed to suddenly WANT to wear tapered and pleated jeans with a striped sweater vest. Why is everything pastel in the misses section?

I feel silly in the juniors section (shopping next to a snotty 13 year old: AH! that was me 12 years ago), but there’s no other choice!

God Bless Gordman’s. They stock a Junior’s Fashion Plus section. Now, I can finally buy jeans that aren’t taper-legged with elastic waists. Woo!

Well as it turns out it was just a related link to health and beauty in the category section. I just figured most would have to do with clothes.

Drool.

'Nuff said.

Cartooniverse

Oh, I feel so much better, reading this. I’ve gotten to the point that if I find something I actually like, I wear it to rags simply because I’ve grown to dislike shopping so much. I’ve gone right off jeans except for Land’s End and L.L. Bean (both for the size and the fact that their customer service is great.) I’m trying to learn to sew, but it’s an uphill battle.

I’ve seen some pretty decent upper-sized things in the Barrie Pace and Orvis catalogues. I like Coldwater Creek, too. Good quality fabric, nice construction, and it lasts. I do have to watch the hemlines, though – I’m 5’6", just barely tall enough to wear some of their longer things.

Even more than outer clothes, my beef is with bras. Does anyone else have a hard as hell time finding a D cup bra that doesn’t look like it was made from leftover heavy construction materials or is so thin that it provides next to no support and is comfortable as well? Moreover, I like pushups for some of my outfits. I do NOT want to minimize a bit of what I’ve got, thank you; I’m happy with it. Try telling that to some of the salesladies in the typical department stores.

I’ve found a few things at Frederick’s, but without exception, the bras I’ve liked have cheesed out on me within four or five months of buying them, and that just won’t go for me. When I can find them, Wonderbras work (at least, they’ve comfortable; I just take out the pads.) Any suggestions are appreciated.
