Won't you just go the fuck away?

Oops, that second link doesn’t work, but the one several posts up of the .wav file does and it’s the same thing.

Yeah, birds sometimes attack my cat. Bluejays are particularly nasty, and they’re bigger than most of the birds around here, so they can do some damage.

My kitty would run under my feet when I came outside, when this was happening. Stupid birds. We’ve shot a few of them with a little pellet rifle from time to time.

shorin-ryu, I didn’t mean to ignore your post. For some reason, I never saw it. I’m starting believe that it really is a mockingbird.

Oh, and I got a great laugh watching one chase a squirrel around the tree. Poor squirrel. It just couldn’t get away from it.

I don’t know birdsong from birdfeed, but that behavior is classic mockingbird. It’s truly hilarious watching mockingbirds harrassing cats.

That’s gotta be a mockingbird, especially if it matches the picture. I wouldn’t worry about the noise not matching. From what I remember, they tend to learn songs from other birds, noises, car alarms and all kinds of non-mockingbird things.

Yeah, but don’t shoot it unless you don’t think you’ll get caught.

It’s illegal to kill them in TX. And they have the most unpleasant squaking and stuff I ever heard. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not to mention I live in a suburb just ten miles from downtown Fort Worth.

Actually, my husband climbed into the attic to save one this afternoon that flew in there. We were worried the poor thing would die of heat stroke.
