Ok yeah, just tryin’ ta have a lil’ fun with the title, cause, yanno, socks (woot). Anyway, frivolity aside, how do you take off your socks? Over the years, I have developed a method of catching the heel of one sock with the toes of my opposite foot and sliding it off that way so that it doesn’t end inside out or balled up, thus less fuss at laundry time. ---

I roll my socks down slow and sexy like. No one ever sees it. So it’s just my word for it.😉 Not really, the Chihuahuas usually remove my socks for me. ---

My gf has a thing about dressing/undressing standing up as a way of keeping flexible. She also shaves her legs standing up. I can see her point, but no. ---

If you have slightly fat feet or too tight socks you have to peel them off. My house rule what ever take off right or wrong side that’s how you get it back after laundry. ---

Heel of one foot on the toe of the sock on the other foot, pull the other foot out of the sock. ---

Can I slightly broaden the inquiry to ask something about t shirts? Why am I unable to take off a t shirt by crossing my arms in front, and peeling it off? I see it done that way on tv all the time. I always strangle myself. ---

Left hand for the left foot’s sock, right hand for the right foot’s sock. Thumb inside the top of the sock above the heel, thumb pressing between the index and middle finger of that same hand on the outside, pull the sock down, whirl it aound some to shake it back right side out. Yes, my wife laughs every time I do this. ---

If I’m standing up, I pin the type of one sock with the other heel and just slide my foot out. If I’m sitting down, I’ll hook two fingers in the top of the sock and slide it off that way. The second method can lead to inside-out socks, but not often. What with the retirement thing, I now almost exclusively wear fairly loose-fitting stretchy calf-length athletic socks. When I wear clingier socks, I have to peel them down. An interesting point about t-shirt removal methods: I read an article (maybe linked from someone here!) that claimed men take them off by pulling the neck and women are more likely to grab the hem. It’s true in my household, but I don’t have a cite handy. ---

The t-shirt thing: I pull both arms in and push it over my head. It kinda ruins shirts after a while. Less so than be ruining it other ways. Then I don’t care. I still wear them. Unless the Lil’wrekker catches me going out in one. ---

I stand on one foot, optionally using the same side hand to hold my knee up closer to my chest if it’s a long heavy winter sock, and with the opposite side hand slide my fingers down into the top of the sock and slip it off. Generally the sock stays right way out, but if not I always turn them right side out before tossing them in the laundry hamper. ---

I grab the top of the sock with the toes of the opposite foot and slide it off. Though, I rarely wear socks. ---

Step on the toe of one sock with the heel of the other foot. Pull foot backwards out of sock. Repeat, the other way around. Oh. Tripolar and InternetLegend already said that. I hook my thumb into the top of the sock and just push down, around the heel, and off the toes in one fluid motion. Easy-peasy standing or sitting. ---
