I disagree. I think it’s designed completely intuitively. After all, when you look at alphabetized lists, usually the "A"s are on top and the "Z"s are on the bottom. I can’t think of ever seeing it otherwise.

Naw, just backwards. 😉 I’m weird when it comes to those third-person shooter games–I always have to use the “invert” controls to control my sight camera because it seems more intuitive to me to pull back on the stick (down) to look up and push forward on the stick (up) to look down.

Me, too! Besides the fact I can’t play shooter games because I totally get way too into them and become really freaked out.
[sub]Like way back when Doom 1 was The Game. I was playing my brother’s copy and he had these surrounding-the-ear headphones. I’m playing and getting more nervous because I know I’m gonna get fuckin shot and KILLED, MAN. And I’m walking and walking and not seeing anything to kill BUT I CAN HEAR THAT DAMN IMP AND HE’S GOING TO KILL ME I JUST KNOW IT OH MY GOD WHERE IS HE and then my mom taps me on the shoulder to ask me something. I almost punched her face out with how freaked out I got. Luckily she ducked in time. :D[/sub]

I got 11073 shortly after midnight yesterday and was in first place on the daily chart. Woo-hoo! Only to have my ranking knocked down to 87th place by the time I woke up in the morning :-(.
How the heck do people consistently break 12000? I only got to 11000 by playing for 4 solid, freaking hours. Most of my scores were in the 4000 to 8000 range.
I hate this game, you all suck, and curse you **Interrobang!?.** Currrsse Youuuuuuuuu!!

The key is speed. As long as each subsequent guess keeps you in that x4 range, you can guess in the double digits and still get fairly high marks. All it takes is getting stumped once, and you’re kinda hosed for that round (if you’re shooting for a 5-digit final score).

For example: I just got over 11000, but my average guess count was over 13 (my quickest was only 10).
But each round, I made sure I kept in the x4 range, and that’s what put me in the Top 50 (for now).
