My nephew had the β€œold” words (FETUS, BUTCH). He said he kept the same browser tab open all the time. Today he closed the tab and restarted and had today’s β€œnew” word. There was likely a cache and propagation of updates issue. ---

I would have preferred lapse, but didn’t see that until it was too late. My first mistake was forgetting to use M or N in my first two words. The second was much worse, forgetting that L was confirmed to be part of the answer. Fortunately the guess at 3 narrowed it down I believe to a single word left. I would never have guessed slung without it being the only choice, which I don’t think it was for me after 2, so a 4 is the best I could have gotten. I’ll take it. ---
