It worked out okay today, but in general I prefer checking out R, S and T (or at least two of them) first. So I may revise my β€˜starters’ list. ---

Not today’s answer (330) but close enough not to look if you haven’t done it yet: FLIED? Please tell me that’s not an accepted alternate spelling of FLEW. \*_googles_\* Phew! It is past tense, but of a different root word with the same spelling. A fly ball in baseball. It’s the past tense of its verb form. β€œHe flied out to left” or whatever. ---

Wordle 330 6/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟩⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨🟩🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Down to the wire on this one. For my fourth guess I get desperate and, like usual, I go for remaining-letter coverage. This time it still left me with at least 3 common words (YIELD, WIELD, FIELD) despite getting 4 of the 5 pretty secure. Then I was able to find a word with all of them in it to be able to find out which one it was: STAKE DREAM ODEON CHILD WIFEY YIELD ---

I have had that word in my β€œstart-word list” for a while now, but have put off trying it for the same reason as what you prefer too. I may do so at some point though for fun - sometimes I get tired of the same combination of letters. ---
