Followed every rule and was rewarded with a 3. I saw atune first, but wasn’t eager to guess it. While I was debating whether it was common enough to be on the answer list, I saw atone. No doubts about that being a valid answer, I played it as soon as I saw it. _Get that dirty U outta here!_ ---

So if I’ve counted correctly, you’ve got an average of 3.93 tries per game. AFAIAC, anything under 4 is good! I’m still trying to get down to an average of 4 after staying with ADIEU as an opening word for way too long. After this morning’s 2, I’m down to 4.02 in 142 games. ---

#360 2/6 SLANT ATONE With the N in the 4th slot, and the A and T blocked out of the 3rd and 5th spots, respectively, there were 7 possible combinations for the A and T. I’d have thought there’d be more possibilities jumping out at me, but the only word that came to mind besides the solution was AETNA, so it wound up being an easier 2 than it appeared at first glance.
