Wordle 381 6/6 ⬛⬛⬛🟦⬛ ⬛🟧⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟧🟦⬛🟦 ⬛🟧⬛🟦🟦 ⬛🟧🟧🟧🟧 🟧🟧🟧🟧🟧 RATIO MINUS BILGE PIXEL YIELD FIELD Seems like almost everyone else picked WIELD before FIELD. Lucky for me I didn’t. Yes, sixes are exciting, but I’m not too proud of this one. Should have seen the \_IELD pattern sooner. I stepped away for a while after BILGE, and _still_ didn’t see it when I came back with fresh eyes. Bringing in P and X at four was not smart. Gonna take this barely-win and move on. ---

In cases such as with this word, when (if) I get down to 2 guesses and there are 3 possible answers I will fish for the correct consonant. In this case it can be Y or W or F, so I would choose a word like FAIRY. I don’t thiink there’s a word with all 3 but if there was then I would use that. Fortunately I guessed correctly. As I like to say, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. ---

The way I play puts W ahead of F and then Y. I open Notepad and keep it adjacent to the Wordle puzzle of the day, then look at the keyboard on the Wordle page as I wrench letters around in various combinations in Notepad. This helps me to not reuse letters already rejected, but also results in letters being tried in keyboard order over alphabetical order. Which, like you, works for me sometimes and against me others. I do try to mix it up a little, though. This also can work either for or against me. ---

Wordle 382 5/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛🟨⬛ ⬛🟩⬛⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 CRIMP STALE BLOWN FLUKY FLUFF Nice one, Wordle! This is one of the killer words, at least for my technique. I never check F or U. Reminds me of how much it’s going to suck when the dreaded ‘puppy’ is the answer, but for that at least I usually check P. Good 5, Wordle, you earned it. At least it was a very fast 5; had no trouble coming up with any of the words I guessed. (It was pretty disconcerting to have only a single letter after three guesses, that’s for sure.)
