Wordle 443 3/6 SLANT =\> zip CHORE =\> got the HO in place WHOOP =\> my reaction to getting the 3 I deserved yesterday! This one was fun. My usual threshold before I leave my usual SLANT-CHORE-DUMPY progression of identifying/eliminating letters in/from the solution, and start actually trying to get the solution, is three letters or two consonants, not necessarily in place. This time, with the \_HO beginning in place after my second guess, I realized that there just weren’t that many remaining letters that could hit leadoff, since CHO, SHO, and THO were already out; I was close enough to my threshold as to make no difference. And even among the remaining possibilities, with PHO and WHO being the primary remaining alternatives, having L,N,R,S, and T out as the fourth letter really cut down on things, as did no silent E at the end. Things were thinned down enough that I could actually skim my dead-trees dictionary for possibilities in just a few minutes. (I’ll do that when feasible. It usually isn’t.) The solution was the only possibility I could find. Whoopee!! ---
