Fortunately, VITAL gave me TI\_\_A, and a quick run through the available letters gave me only one choice. Still kicking myself for putting that I where I knew it didn’t go. On the other hand, had I gone with, say, SATIN, it would have left me in much the same situation. I just hate messing up like that. ---

Wordle 350 3/6 SLANT CH **O** R **E** **BOOZE** After my second guess, I had 13 consonants left, so I wrote down the possible endings, from OBE to OZE. There were almost no pairs among those consonants that worked in combination, so I assumed a consonant-vowel start, so I mentally tried each vowel (except A, obviously) in the second spot with each of those 13 endings, to see if it would bring any words to mind. Got DIODE, GEODE, and BOOZE. The first two didn’t seem out of bounds given that BIOME was a previous solution, but BOOZE just seemed more likely. ETA: Hope nobody saw my solution during the few seconds that it was un-spoilered.
